🎶 Elliott Bay Pipe Band: Seattle’s Welcoming Home for Pipers and Drummers of All Ages and Experience 🎶
Seattle, WA — Since 1992, the Elliott Bay Pipe Band has been a vibrant part of the Pacific Northwest’s musical landscape, bringing together pipers and drummers of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. Rooted in tradition but driven by camaraderie and creativity, our band is proud to offer a welcoming, inclusive space for anyone interested in the rich folk heritage of pipe band music.
Whether you’re an active player with decades of experience, returning after a long hiatus, or just starting out, Elliott Bay Pipe Band is a place to grow, play, and connect. Our members range from beginners with just a couple of years under their belts to veterans with over 50 years of piping and drumming expertise. We offer support and mentoring for new musicians, and we’re always excited to welcome fresh faces into our community.
What sets us apart? It’s our vibe. We laugh a lot, support each other, and prioritize making music that’s fun to play, sounds great, and is executed with skill. While we do participate in regional competitions at the grades 4 or 5 level, our primary focus is on performance, community engagement, and musical enjoyment.
Our leadership and decision-making is democratic and collaborative, ensuring every voice is heard. We value collective engagement instead of a top-down hierarchy, with all members contributing to the band’s direction and planning.
Annual highlights include:

- Father’s Day concert at the Ballard Locks
- Burns Night festivities
- Graduation events and more
